DTN COMMENTS:  A few live deals have been reported in Western Nebraska at 
$229 to $230. A few bids have been renewed in Kansas at midday, but so 
far they are being passed. Yesterday a light trade was reported in 
Nebraska and Kansas. Northern dressed trade was marked at mostly $356 to 
$357, steady to $1 lower than last week's weighted average basis 
Nebraska. Southern live deals took place at mostly $229, $2 higher than 
the previous week's weighted average basis Kansas. A little more trade is 
likely to take place later today and/or Friday. 

Beef cutouts are lower at midday (choice 354.79 -0.98, select 345.03 -
4.56) with light to moderate box movement (53.29 lds of choice cuts, 9.40 
lds of select cuts, 0.00 lds of trim, and 10.03 lds of ground). At 
midday, live cattle contracts are mostly moderately to sharply lower, 
while feeder issues are mixed, mostly modestly higher.
