DTN COMMENTS: Some light trade has been reported in several areas, with
Northern dressed deals marked at mostly $360, $2 higher than last week's
weighted averages, while live business in the South is at $232, $4 lower
than last week's weighted average. Having said all of that, bids in
Nebraska have now been lowered to $357 to $358 dressed, while live bids
have been knocked down to $225.
Beef cutouts are mixed at midday (choice 377.89 +0.31, select 360.11 -
1.14) with light to moderate box movement (42.89 lds of choice cuts, 7.85
lds of select cuts, 6.36 lds of trim, and 15.40 lds of ground). At this
time several contracts are locked limit down on both live and feeder
issues, and all other contracts are sharply lower.
